Where imagination and movement ignite magic.

I am a Yoga Storyteller.

For years I loved the hustle and bustle, the immediate access to anything and the general vibration of Manhattan.  After ten years, I quit my job in marketing, enrolled in a Yoga Teacher Training, packed up my apartment and moved to the suburbs of LA. Overnight I became a stepmom, wife, and yoga teacher; it was the best transformation yet.  In this period of enormous change, everything made sense - this is the life that every moment had been preparing me for.

I have consumed myths & metaphors, music & books, art & media my whole life.  These were the gateways to understanding the magic of yoga. Myth Movement Music is meant to be a place for people to enrich their yoga practice and daily life. A yoga resource and a community of curious beings, embodying integrity, authenticity & vibrancy.

By combining timeless myth with deliberate movement with meaningful music a portal opens, through which you can discover your most alive self. I have read many pages, taken yoga classes in 30 different states, 25 different countries and nearly 80 different cities; and this is the culmination of everything, organized just for you.

Our lives have become incredibly fast moving, high pressure and at times lackluster.  Yoga, while ancient, is also profoundly contemporary. Yoga is not a set of hard and fast rules where there is no fun and only quiet and stillness.  I propose that we set ourselves free from these human notions and break the rules by paying homage to them.

Let’s rewrite the narrative of our lives together.

Mindful Flow

We live our lives from within.

Our World is highly pressurized, often distracting us to try to achieve, to heal, to thrive, to live, to do. We define ourselves by these experiences and environments. Yoga is the path there. The tools, the practices, the ancient wisdom is meant to guide us from the outside to the inside.

This class is meant to make you think, feel and move only for your Self. A gateway towards innerstanding for when the World feels messy, chaotic & disorderly. Simply come to your mat, move, and harness the power of Self churning it into purpose.

Lunar Alchemy

Meditations on the Divine Feminine using tools from yoga therapy to create opportunities for meaningful personal transformation.

Each class highlights a divine feminine and her masculine counterpart using their archetypal representations to guide the class. The subject changes according to the 28 day lunar cycle and integrates meditation, mudra alongside a vinyasa style flow with an intentionally curated playlist.

200 Hour Foundational Yoga Teacher Training

An immersive training designed specifically for the person who wants to approach yoga and/or yoga teaching from a therapeutic perspective with an emphasis on embodied self-knowledge. Blending traditional wisdom with modern knowledge based practices, this 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training offers students an intimate journey of Self discovery. Using the growing field of yoga studies academia, students are guided to uncover their unique teaching voice through the exploration of a yoga practice. This training is for the brave, curious innovator who wants to find their authentic voice immersed in the many modalities of a Yoga practice.

A Practical Immersion & Ethically Informed Teacher Training

One of the greatest challenges we are faced with is defining Yoga, more specifically, distinguishing the difference between Yoga and the Yoga Industry.  With the rise in popularity of yoga practice in the United States, what is promoted and visible can be at times disconnected from the essence of this practice that originated in India.  Sometimes the goal of industry competes with the practice of yoga which is why I strive to prepare students to not only identify this intersection, but to cultivate the balance of both. As a result, new teachers approach their yoga career from a fully integrated perspective.  The vision is to provide an authentic process of transmission of Yoga by penetrating the veil of industry in an effort to give students a wide and deep understanding of the field of Yoga and its potential as a therapeutic modality.

A Strategic and Intentional Approach

Teaching yoga is as personal as the practice from which it emerges.  The 200 Hour journey is split into three sections: practice, teaching, and practice teaching.  In the first part, students explore a personal practice, discovering the many aspects of yoga and how its modalities fit together.  In the second section, students learn about how to teach the elements of practice such as: asana, pranayama, and meditation.  Parts 1 and 2 consist of lectures, workshops and interactive sessions; in part 3 students begin to put it all together and apply the skills they have learned.  This final section consists of student presentations of various types of offerings and practice teaching in addition to providing constructive, peer feedback and personal reflection.

Sacred Society

Teacher Advocacy & Continuing Education Mentorship

The yoga industry is nearly a $9 Billion business, yoga teachers don’t see much of that. The sacred society is a 1:1 mentorship program meant to help experienced and new yoga teachers navigate the socio - political landscape of teaching yoga while offering customized and practical tools to make a sustainable living. One of the greatest challenges the Yoga Industry faces is inequity and inaccessibility; the purpose of this program is meant to help navigate and promote a more equitable Yoga. Ultimately and with love for this practice, the intention is to leave a continuing legacy for Yoga.

Social Consciousness

Social consciousness, specifically using yoga and the contemplative practices as a tool for social change is very important to me. I completed a 100-hour Yoga, Mindfulness, and Social Change certificate program through Loyola Marymount’s Center for Religion and Spirituality which is “designed for those who desire to apply the practices and philosophy of yoga as tools for social change.

As part of our final project a group of us wrote an open letter to Yoga Alliance (YA) with the hope of a better future for Yoga (with a capital Y). Here, find a link to the open letter, with the ability to sign. In addition, is a link to the podcast I did with J. Brown Yoga Talks discussing the process and rationale behind this initiative. .

Music

As a baby the only song that could soothe me to sleep was “Rock the Casbah” by the Clash.  Music was always on in my house growing up, a trip to Tower Records on a Saturday was the norm and there was nothing unusual about calling Sam Goody to find out the lyrics to a Wallflowers song.  Music has been a natural companion and when I finally fell in love, well, I married a Music Man.  Music is a constant and diverse force in our home. The act of listening to an album start to finish, seeing an artist live or even just singing in the shower can fill you with a supremely powerful element of life: sound.

Making playlists for me is an act of love and I hope that you can find some that speak to you here.
